Chiropractors focus not on symptoms of disease or illness but rather on the cause of the problem. Much like a light on your car's dashboard lighting up when the engine is in trouble, the body too sends signals to your brain indicating something is wrong. Such signals may include pain, numbness, tingling, nausea or tension. Instead of covering up the signal, like putting a piece of tape over the dashboard light, chiropractors figure out where in your nervous system the signal came from and why.
Chiropractors understand that each person has an inborn ability to heal and regulate themselves and that our brain and nervous system serve as the master control of our bodies and, therefore our health. If there is interference to our nervous system then we are unable to function properly and our ability to heal and be healthy is diminished.
When this interference occurs to our nervous system it is referred to as the vertebral subluxation. Instead of masking the symptoms by suggesting pain killer medications, chiropractors remove this interference and allow your body to fix its own ailments - the way the body was designed!
The method by which chiropractors remove subluxations is called an adjustment. Adjustments are performed in many ways and Dr. Steve uses manual, light touch and instrument techniques.
